$660K Marin Embezzlement Suspect Arrested: Report

SAN RAFAEL, CA — Police said a North Bay woman was arrested on suspicion of embezzlement in connection with a $661,000 scam involving a San Rafael business, The Marin Independent Journal reports.
Kara Orella, 45 of Vacaville, was booked into county jail on charges of embezzlement and forgery, among other allegations, the report said.
Orella, who has a criminal history that includes grand theft and burglary, had worked at the company as a bookkeeper, the report said.

After suspecting her of stealing, the company terminated her and contacted police, according to the report.
A police spokesperson declined to identify the company, the report said.
