Marin Community Foundation Creates Grant Program to Strengthen Ties Between Muslims and Non-Muslims

To strengthen relationships between Bay Area Muslim Americans and non-Muslim communities and to encourage greater civic participation by the Muslim community, the Marin Community Foundation (MCF) is inviting grant proposals under an initiative called One Nation Bay Area.

The primary goal of this effort is to foster collaboration and engagement that bring together Muslim and non-Muslim leaders, youth, residents, interfaith leaders, and organizations to promote civic participation, relationship-building, and new partnerships. A second outcome is the creation of a Bay Area demographic profile that compiles and analyzes information about the American Muslim community, detailing its diversity and documenting the nature and extent of its civic engagement.

MCF is partnering in this initiative with two other Bay Area community foundations—Silicon Valley Community Foundation and The San Francisco Foundation—and Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy.
This new fund will make grants up to $10,000. Organizations in Marin that are interested in applying for a grant can learn more at the One Nation Bay Area section of the foundation's website. Applications will be accepted starting November 7.
