
The Marin Economic Forum (MEF), a public-private partnership that works to enhance Marin County's economic vitality, has launched a new website which will act as a one-stop portal for Marin business and community information. The website is part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and availability of information to Marin businesses, residents and those thinking of setting up shop in the county.
“Marin Economic Forum is to become Marin’s independent and objective source for economic research and analysis,” said interim CEO and Chief Economist Dr. Robert Eyler. "The new website allows people to access this information easily."
Since 2010, Marin Economic Forum has created a number of economic and community impact reports for the County of Marin, Novato, Sausalito, and most recently Lucas Company Productions and . These reports provide critical data for organizations, economic effects of proposed plans and projects, as well asproviding policy assistance to both a local business and the County of Marin. All reports may be downloaded from the website.

The organization, whose top sponsors include Autodesk, LucasFilm, Bank of Marin, Circle Bank, Bank of America, Marin General Hospital, and Kaiser Permanente, is currently forming action groups: collaborations with members of Marin’s top industries, to generate resources, information and solutions to current economic issues. The groups will help shape Marin Economic Forum’s activities.
In addition, MEF will continue to work with chambers and other organizations to host various informative events, such as the annual Forecasting the Future Conference (next one in Oct 2012) and Marinnovation, a celebration of entrepreneurs, designers and inventors in Marin with partner Venture Greenhouse, in May 2012.
