Drivers Behaving Badly

This week's roundup of police activities has a number of reports of reckless driving, as well as a theft of cigarettes and a less-than-punctual wife.

March 20

1:59 p.m. – An elderly female driver reported that she accidentally cut off a dark gray sedan on Miller Ave. near , and that a number of teenagers in the other car began hanging out the windows and yelling profanities at her and harassing her. The woman said the driver of the car was driving recklessly and very aggressively. Police went to the scene but were unable to locate the vehicle.

4:22 p.m. – A young boy’s bike was taken from outside . The bike was eventually returned to its owner.

4:36 p.m. – A mother picking up her kids at Mill Valley Middle School backed up into a police car. There was no damage to either vehicle and no crime was committed.

5:59 p.m. – A parent of a Mill Valley Middle School student called police to report that there was an alleged bike theft at the school earlier and that her son was accused of stealing it. The mom wanted to discuss the incident with a police officer.

March 21

8:57 a.m. – A car and a Mill Valley Refuse truck collided at La Goma St. and Sycamore Ave., with both vehicles sustaining minor damage. The parties exchanged information.

March 22

4:31 p.m. – A resident reported second-hand information about the driver of a silver Acura SUV recklessly exiting the parking lot, almost striking a tree and hitting a median. An officer went to the area but was unable to spot the SUV.

9:29 p.m. – Police received a report of an older man driving on the wrong side of the road in the area of Camino Alto and Miller Ave., possibly heading toward Hwy. 101. The driver was described as an older man with gray hair and glasses who seemed confused. Police were unable to locate the car.

March 24

1:48 p.m. – An employee of reported that a juvenile grabbed a pack of cigarettes at the store and left without paying. Police contacted the juvenile and cited him for petty theft.

March 25

6:12 p.m. – A resident of Quarry Rd. called police to report that his 72-year-old wife was supposed to return from San Francisco an hour ago and said that his wife is very punctual and this is unlike her. She was traveling alone to an art show. The woman was subsequently located and had been running late.
