Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks Play "See You in the Funny Papers"

Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks will present the premiere performance of See You In The Funny Papers, the fifth annual appearance of the band debuting a unique thematic production that has gone on to tour the US of A.

Built around their trademark humor and coupled with Dan’s passion for cartooning, See You In The Funny Papers will combine Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks most silly, skewed and humorous tunes including “How Can I Miss You When You Won’t Go Away”, “I’ve Got A Capo On My Brain” and “First I Lost My Marbles …”  -- with images and sounds from classic movie and newspaper cartoons.

See You In The Funny Papers, besides being a rare musical treat, promises to be a colorfully visual, multi-media experience as well.

Artist, cartoonist and animator Michael Lipman aka "Lippy," is collaborating with Dan and lending his expertise and animation archives to the production to give it the perfect ambience. Interwoven throughout DH & HL's performance and the evening will be vintage cartoons, classic comic book stills, and other jewels from the great eras of American animation.
