Free Parking at Mill Valley Meters Through New Years Eve, Time Limits Enforced

One Mill Valley Patch reader reports getting two parking tickets in one day, not realizing the meter time limits are still in effect during the free holiday parking times.

As part of the long-standing holiday tradition in Mill Valley, the City offers free parking meter zones from Nov. 29- Dec. 31, however, be aware, parking time limits are still enforced.

Mill Valley Patch reader, Shahasp Valentine, recently posted that she received two-parking tickets in the same day, after confusion over the City’s holiday parking resolution, reporting the misunderstanding will cost her $66.

According to the City of Mill Valley 2013 Holiday Free Parking resolution, “The City Council of the City of Mill Valley authorizes the city manager to allow free parking at metered spaces for the maximum time indicated at those spaces from the dates of Friday, November 29 to Tuesday, December 31, 2013… Parking enforcement continues to enforce time restrictions and other parking violations, excepting the expired meters.”
