Manhunt Underway For Marin Sexual Assault Suspect: Cops

The suspect is known to the police.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A manhunt is underway in Marin for a sexual assault suspect, police said.

Officers as of around 3:30 p.m. Thursday were searching for an attempted sexual assault suspect in the area of Robert Dollar Road and Boyd Park Open Space, the San Rafael Police Department said.

The suspect was last seen just north of the San Rafael Elks Lodge in the open space, police said.

“A police perimeter has been established and a search team is deployed with the use of the California Highway Patrol’s helicopter,” police said in an email notification to the public.

“Avoid the areas of the Robert Dollar Open Space, Boyd Park, San Rafael Elks Lodge, and Falkirk Cultural Center.”

The suspect is known to the police.

He is described as a 35-year-old white man, 6-foot-1 and 177 pounds with blond hair and green eyes, police said. He was last seen wearing a black tank top, blue jeans.

“Suspect is not believed to be armed, but should be considered dangerous,” police said.

“If anyone observes the described suspect, do not approach and call San Rafael Police using 9-1-1.”
