Marin Blaze Triggers Shelter Orders (Updated)

Shelter-in-place orders were issued for homes and businesses within a quarter mile of Koch Road down to Wildflower Drive at 9:16 a.m.

Update: Shelter orders have been lifted after fire crews contained the Corte Madera blaze, the Central Marin Police said in a news release.

CORTE MADERA, CA — A Corte Madera fire has triggered shelter-in-place orders for homes and businesses within a quarter mile of Koch Road down to Wildflower Drive, Central Marin Police said in a news release.

The shelter orders issued at 9:16 a.m. followed a mandatory evacuation order eight minutes earlier.

Firefighters have made progress battling the blaze but shelter orders remain in effect until further notice, police spokeswoman Margot Rohrbacher told Patch.
