“In this instance, the California Elections Code allows the sitting City Council to appoint the nominees and cancel the election.”

Wickham has already served two stints on the council, including a four-year term after winning a 2015 council election. He recently served as vice mayor.

Burke was appointed on Sept. 1 of last year to fill a council vacancy until the city’s next election.

Perrey serves as the chair of the city’s Emergency Preparedness Commission and co-chairs Sustainable Mill Valley. He also serves on the Oversight Committee of the Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority.
