MILL VALLEY, CA — Mill Valley City Councilmember Tricia Ossa is stepping down.
Ossa made the announcement at Monday’s City Council meeting.
The first-term councilmember, elected in the early days of the pandemic in March of last year, cited personal reasons for her decision, noting that she plans to move to Oregon to be closer to family.

Her resignation is effective Aug. 3.
Before her election to the council in March of last year, Ossa served in multiple roles for Mill Valley.

She served as chair of the Mill Valley Community Emergency Response Team Steering Committee since 2016, and currently serves on the Mill Valley Flood Management and Drainage Task Force.
“I am honored to have had the opportunity to serve the city and the community over the years in many roles, including on the City Council,” an emotional Ossa said at Monday’s meeting.
“I appreciated being able to work with such a dedicated group of volunteers, community members and elected and appointed officials. It is a testament to your hard work and dedication that Mill Valley is the incredibly special community that it is.”
