Anyone who lived in the Bay Area in the years before iconic San Francisco Chronicle columnist Herb Caen's death in 1996 surely remembers his signature stylings.
That included Caen's aptly monikered Namephreaks, in which he highlighted such aptly or inconceivably named people like spokesperson Pam Talkington, periodontist Dr. Ronald R. Rott or substitute teacher Mr. Fillin.
Inspired by the legendary Caen, we're rolling out a new photo-driven feature that looks at the signs, license plates and any local images for a healthy dose of irony, symmetry and, most of all, levity.
