• Scammers Pretending To Be Police Target Residents In Marin County (patch.com) — Mill Valley police are warning residents about scammers posing as MVPD officers and demanding money or personal information over the phone. Officers stress they will never call to collect fines or request gift cards or wire transfers. Residents who’ve lost money are urged to call the nonemergency line and to be extremely cautious with unsolicited calls and social media privacy.

• Marin students win national honors for film projects (marinij.com) — Students from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley have earned top national honors from the organization that runs the Emmy Awards, standing out among 1,700 entries for their films and photography. Alongside a Novato High winner, Tam students were recognized for nonfiction, sports storytelling, and visual work, underscoring the strength of Mill Valley’s Academy of Integrated Humanities and New Media program.

• Mill Valley artist's creations a part of rock history (marinij.com) — Mill Valley residents can see hometown artist George Mead’s giant, hyper-realistic album-cover paintings on display this month at Luxe Places International Realty downtown. Mead, who lives in the hills above Mill Valley, has created iconic stage art for the Grateful Dead, Elton John, the Rolling Stones, and more, and is now focusing on fine art commissions and murals after decades shaping rock’s visual history.
