Police Arrest Marin City Man for Alleged Crack Possession
Officers respond to a report of a fight in a parked car near Shelter Bay and arrested a 21-year-year-old man on drug charges and resisting arrest.

arrested a Marin City man on suspicion of crack cocaine possession Monday afternoon after responding to a report of a fight inside a car parked at Hamilton Drive and Shelter Bay Avenue.
Police were called to the scene at 3:20 p.m. Monday and spotted a parked car matching the description given by a witness, according to Sgt. Paul Wrapp. Inside the car were three men, including two known gang members and one man on state parole.
The driver of the car, 21-year-old Derrell Stefaun Compton of Marin City, was found in possession of crack cocaine, Wrapp said. Compton also allegedly resisted arrest, though neither Compton nor arresting Officer Mario Medeiros were injured in the incident.

The other two men were identified and released at the scene. Police determined that there had not been a crime involving the initial assault or battery report, Wrapp said.
Compton is scheduled to be arraigned on March 2 in Marin County Superior Court.
