Explosive Device Found At Marin Home Rendered Safe (UPDATED)

Updated at 5:38 p.m.: Shelter orders were lifted after a UC Berkeley Bomb Squad rendered the device safe.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Shelter-in-place orders were issued Thursday after an explosive device was located in a Tamalpais Valley neighborhood, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office said.

The shelter orders are for residents in the vicinity of the 200 block of Cleveland Court and the public is urged to avoid the area, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office said a small explosive device was located at the residence of a person who recently died.

The Sheriff’s Office and the Southern Marin Fire Department are on the scene.
