Tam Valley Driver Misses Parking Deck, Lands on Stairs in Front Yard
Elderly Bristol Place resident sustains minor injuries after she didn't make a sharp enough left turn and ends up a few feet above her front yard.
An elderly Tam Valley driver sustained minor injuries Monday afternoon after she missed the parking deck of her Bristol Place home, going over the edge and landing on a flight of stairs a few feet above her front yard and amidst a small tree.
Southern Marin fire Chief Jim Irving said crews were called to the home just after 1 p.m. Monday when the woman, who didn't have a cell phone, repeatedly honked her horn until a neighbor was alerted to the incident and called 911.
The woman was coming home and drove down a small private driveway before failing to to negotiate a sharp left turn onto her parking deck, Irving said.

“She would’ve had to make hard left to get onto the deck and she went past it and down into the front yard of the home,” Irving said.
Firefighters arrived and were able to extricate the driver from her car, which was suspended about four feet off the ground, Irving said.
