Taxman Trickery, Street Parties and the Verbal Assault That Wasn’t

This week's roundup of police activities also features the usual assortment of barking dogs and bike thefts.

April 2

11:18 a.m. – A resident of Lower Dr. reported that someone entered their home on April, though nothing was taken. The resident said she was unsure how the person got into the home, though she was also unsure if the home was locked.

3:37 p.m. – A resident of Summit Ave. told police that the Internal Revenue Service reported that a fraudulent tax return had been filed using his Social Security number. It was unclear if the fraudulent tax return qualified for a refund.

April 3

3:11 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a possible burglary at a home on Greenfield Ct., having been tipped off by a motion-detector alarm. They determined that the house was secure.

8:07 p.m. – A woman called police to report she had been verbally assaulted at Whole Foods. Police went to the scene and fund that there was no merit to the alleged verbal assault.

9:25 p.m. – An employee of the Rite Aid on East Blithedale Ave. reported that a man who was inside the store had the small of alcohol on his breath and then he got behind the wheel of a Nissan Xterra SUV. Police went to the scene and determined that there was no merit to the allegation of DUI, as the man got a ride home in a taxi.

April 4

3:10 p.m. – A resident of Summit Ave. called police to complain that her former employer reported to the IRS that she made more money in 2012 than she actually did. Police determined that no fraud had occurred and the employer had made a mistake in reporting the former employee’s income.

April 5

2:47 p.m. – A driver reported that the driver of a gray Toyota Celica had driven recklessly, weaving and aggressively approaching her car in the area of Alta Vosta Ave. and East Blithedale Avenue. Police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

4:06 p.m. – A resident reported that his mountain bike was stolen from outside Safeway at 1 Camino Alto.

April 6

10:46 p.m. – A resident of the 100 block of Throckmorton Ave. complained to police that it sounded like a “street party with music” outside. The resident requested more visible patrols by police in the area during the weekend. Police determined that a live band was playing at Vasco but that the doors and windows were closed the sound level was contained.

April 7

6:35 p.m. – A resident of Molino Ave. complained that a dog had been barking for one hour. The resident said she was going to sleep and didn’t want to be contacted by police if they came to the area.
