Winter Holiday Events At The Bay Area Discovery Museum In Marin County
The half-playground and half-exhibit museum sits at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Bay Area Discovery Museum is an interactive experience geared toward children, encouraging active participation and first-hand educational opportunities in Sausalito.

Located in the heart of Horseshoe Bay, the half-playground and half-exhibit museum sits at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge with a not-so miniature replica of the red towers for visitors to climb.
The exhibits feature local iconography and are rooted in the maritime culture of the San Francisco Bay Area. Children and their caregivers are welcome to learn about their home and build life skills in the process.

Toddler classes are offered every Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. or 2:30-3:30 p.m. until March 25. Discovery educators lead toddlers between 18 and 40 months old in all sorts of sensory stations and miniature obstacle courses. The classes are designed to be intellectually stimulating to build curiosity and confidence through play. Reservations are encouraged, though drop-ins are also welcome if space is available.
Iceless skating is now available for the holiday season with faux snowballs, lights and snowy trees. Visitors with closed-toed shoes are invited to slip, slide, glide and dance on the iceless winter pond. Booties are available for everyone to join in on the fun. The winter wonderland discovery zone will be open until Feb. 8.
The museum also hosts special events for the upcoming holidays like the Noon Year's Eve ball drop. Families are invited to enjoy New Year's-themed programs featuring a dance party with a live DJ and a noon countdown for bedtime-conscious parents. Craft stations will be available for kids to build their own crowns and sculptures. The festival celebration will also feature an immersive blacklight exhibit titled, "Baby's first disglow." Capacity is limited, and visitors are encouraged to buy tickets in advance for Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
