Grass Fire Near San Jose Airport Contained To 5 Acres
The fire called in at 1:23 p.m. at Orchard Parkway and Component Drive was stomped on before it spread to a nearby industrial complex.
SAN JOSE, CA — Firefighters have contained a two-alarm vegetation fire near Mineta San Jose International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was reported at 1:23 p.m. at Component Drive and Orchard Parkway. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to 5 acres by an hour later and prevent its spread to a neighboring industrial complex.
Fire crews are currently mopping up area and knocking out hot spots, and will remain at the scene into the late afternoon. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
