Merryhill Students Donate More Than 100 Toys to Children in Need
Students held a toy drive to benefit Toys for Tots
Students at Merryhill Preschool and Elementary School in San Jose recently held a toy drive to benefit Toys for Tots. Over the past few weeks, students and their families collected more than 100 new toys, including board games, dolls, puzzles, trucks and more. Following the donation, students packaged the items, which were picked up by Marines who explained the positive impact that their donations will have on children in need. Through this charitable initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to their community, especially during the holiday season.
Toys for Tots, a 70-year national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, provides happiness and hope to less fortunate children during each holiday season. The toys, books and other gifts collected and distributed by Marines and volunteers offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory for a lifetime.
