Milpitas Neighborhoods Mapped by Wealth

Santa Clara County ranks second of all California counties in median household income, thanks in part to many residents of Milpitas.

Rich Blocks, Poor Blocks, a website that compiles American Community Survey data, has broken down every city in America by neighborhood and listed them all by average household income, and the results are quite interesting.

The site separates Milpitas into several sections — the multiple census tracts that divide the city. 

The wealthiest section of the city is census tract 5050.06, which is the neighborhood west of 880 and south of Southbay Freeway that includes Milpitas Square. The median household income there is $121,600.

Just north of the wealthiest section of Milpitas is the city's poorest neighborhood, census tract 5046.02, which includes the In-N-Out Burger on Ranch Drive, where the median household income is $52,202. 

Middle class in California ranges between $53,000 to $67,000 according to the survey.
