• Wish Book: Asian Americans for Community Involvement gives seniors a new lease on life (mercurynews.com) — Milpitas appears as the place where a Fremont senior once took ESL classes, a connection that later led her to Asian Americans for Community Involvement’s senior wellness programs. The story highlights how AACI combats isolation among older Asian American adults with culturally responsive classes, meals, and support, while seeking donations through the Mercury News Wish Book to offset recent funding cuts.
   

• Local Brownie troop helps nonprofit get holiday gifts ready in Sunnyvale (mercurynews.com) — A Bay Area nonprofit that began in Milpitas is working toward providing 50,000 holiday gifts to children and families across the region, with help from local Girl Scout troops. Brownie Troop 60125 recently volunteered at Family Giving Tree’s Sunnyvale warehouse and ran a virtual giving tree, while Sunnyvale schools distributed food kits to support families over winter break.
