Toby is also about 2 years old and is a Dachshund, long-haired mix.

"No one knows what happened in my past, but I have three beebee pellets in me that prove I was not treated kindly," reads Missy's profile on the Humane Society Silicon Valley's website. "I am still learning to trust people, and really want to!"

Missy responds well to kind voices and treats. She's hoping to find a patient, loving guardian that will give Toby and her a loving home.

"Together we are a great pair! He is a social butterfly and I am the sensitive, loyal type."

The dogs are in the Homeward Bound program which means that their adoption fee has been fully sponsored.
