Suspicious Device At Milpitas Walmart Deemed Fireworks: Police
Milpitas police and a Santa Clara Co. Sheriff's K-9 unit was brought in once the Walmart was evacuated during the Friday night incident.
MILPITAS, CA — A report of a suspicious device that prompted the Friday afternoon evacuation of the Walmart store at 301 Ranch Drive turned out to be fireworks, Milpitas police said.
Officers were called at 4:30 p.m. and the store was evacuated as a precaution while the device was evaluated.
The San Jose Police Department Bomb Squad neutralized the device, which, on closer inspection turned out to be fireworks, police said. An explosives detection canine from the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office searched the store but no additional devices were found.

Police concluded their investigation at the store at 11 p.m. and are now trying to determine who placed the device.
