If you're leaving town this weekend, Milpitas Police offer the following tips to avoid becoming a burglary victim. <ul> <li> When leaving your residence, make sure you lock all doors and windows, even when running quick errands. </li> <li> Consider putting locks on any side gates leading to the backyard and installing deadbolt-type locks in your residence, if you do not already have them. </li> <li> Install an alarm at your residence, surveillance cameras or motion sensor lighting on the exterior of your residence, if possible. </li> <li> Consider starting a Neighborhood Watch Program in your neighborhood. </li> <li> Always call the Milpitas Police Department to report a crime in progress or any suspicious vehicles/people in your neighborhood.  </li> </ul> For information call Milpitas Police at 408-586-2525.
