US News ranks Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara highly, top 50 in CA

Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center is among the Kaiser hospitals recognized for delivering high-quality care, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2021-22 Best Hospitals ratings and rankings.

Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara is rated as “high performing” in care for heart failure, aortic valve and heart bypass surgery, care for kidney failure and stroke, hip replacement surgeries and pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) care.

U.S. News & World Report’s 32nd annual study analyzes 15 specialties and 17 procedures and common adult conditions to assess hospital performance. According to the report:

• Kaiser Permanente Northern California hospitals are “high performing” for one or more measures. High performers are based on the evaluations of more than 4,500 medical centers.
• Seven Kaiser Permanente Northern California hospitals are ranked among the top hospitals in California: Roseville, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Oakland/Richmond, Sacramento, San Leandro, and South Sacramento are all rated among the state’s best hospitals.
• Kaiser Permanente Vallejo hospital is among the top 30 hospitals in the nation for rehabilitation. Nationwide, only 165 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty out of more than 4,500 hospitals evaluated.
• Kaiser Permanente Antioch and San Francisco hospitals are rated “high performing” in the pulmonology and lung surgery specialty, indicating performance in the top 10% of the nation.
