Young Man Dies In I-680 Vehicle Shooting In Milpitas: CHP
The CHP responded to a Monday night call on northbound I-680 north of Landess Ave. to find the man in his 20s fatally shot in his vehicle.
MILPITAS, CA — A young man was shot and killed late Monday night on a freeway in Milpitas, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers were called after 10 p.m. and responded to northbound Interstate Highway 680 just north of Landess Avenue, CHP Officer Ross Lee said. Officers found a vehicle in the center median. Lee said inside the vehicle was young man, possibly in his early 20s, who appeared to have been shot.
Paramedics and firefighters tried to save the man's life but he was pronounced dead. No one else was in the vehicle, Lee said. All lanes of northbound Highway 680 were closed for about four hours between North Capitol and Landess avenues while officers investigated the killing.
