1. Community Seafood Program Helps Feed The Hungry In Monterey (kqed.org) — Food insecurity remains severe in Monterey County, where a local seafood program is turning fresh Monterey Bay catch into thousands of free meals each year. The Monterey Bay Fisheries Trust buys from local boats and supplies groups like Al & Friends, which serves restaurant-quality Sunday breakfasts at Window on the Bay Park for up to 150 food-insecure neighbors.
   

2. CHOMP nurses hold rally calling for fair elections at Monterey hospital (montereyherald.com) — Nurses at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in Monterey are pushing for a union, saying they need a stronger voice on patient safety, staffing, and working conditions. Hospital leadership insists it follows labor laws and values its staff, while labor groups from across the Monterey Bay area are rallying behind the nurses’ call for a fair election.
   

3. CHP cruiser rammed in Monterey County cannabis grow-house burglary; 9 arrested (ksbw.com) — Early this morning, a cannabis grow house on Encinal Road near Chualar in Monterey County was burglarized, ending with nine arrests and two CHP officers hospitalized for evaluation after their cruiser was rammed. Deputies recovered firearms and cannabis, while at least two suspects may still be at large. Investigators say all arrested suspects are from Northern California.
   

4. Silver Alert issued for missing woman in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties (ksbw.com) — A statewide Silver Alert now includes Monterey County as authorities search for 82-year-old Karin Godfrey, a Gilroy woman last seen Friday evening in San Jose. She may be driving a brown 2003 Buick LeSabre with California plate 5GIN928. Monterey County residents are urged to call 911 immediately if they spot her or the vehicle.
