Dog Park Coming to Crescenta Valley Park

Construction of the long-awaited dog park should begin in August, according to L.A. County Parks & Rec.

Construction of a dog park in Crescenta Valley Park could begin as early as August, according to Susan Pearson and Jim Smith of the L.A. County Department of Parks and Recreation. The dog park would be in an area in the northwest section of on Dunsmore and Honolulu Avenues.

"There will be a dog park in Crescenta Valley," Pearson told a crowd of roughly 20 at the Town Council meeting Thursday night. They applauded at the news.

Pearson said corrections are being completed on the final drawings, which need to be approved. A contractor must also be found. Then, the drawings will be submitted to Flood Control. If everything goes well, Pearson said, then construction of the park can start in August and should be completed in March of 2012.
