2 Mountain View Companies Make Fastest-Growing List
Audience takes highest spot of the local companies on list.
Inc. Magazine's list of 500 of the country's fastest-growing companies has been released, and two Mountain View-based companies on the list.
The list factors, which factors in revenue growth over the past three years, included Audience and Axcient among the 12 Silicon Valley companies that made it.

At No. 66 a company like Audience, founded in 2000, had $97.7 million in revenue in 2011 and has grown 3,880 percent--yes, that's a 3,880 percent growth. Audience develops sound and audio products for mobile device companies.
But not too far behind at number No. 129, Axcient--which boasted a 2,462 percent growth--had $4.3 million in revenue in 2011. Founded in 2006, Axcient offers cloud-based data protection for businesses.

Other Bay Area companies that made the list included the San Mateo-based companies Adap.tv, Marketo Inc. and SugarSync, Inc., Redwood City-based Propel Fuels, Santa Clara-based Palo Alto Networks, Milpitas-based Anjaneyap Inc., San Jose-based A10 Networks Inc., Fremont-based Mobifusion Inc., Sunnyvale-based Arteris Inc., and, of course, Menlo Park-based Facebook Inc., included because the company was still private in 2011.
