SUNNYVALE, CA -- Applications are due later this month for grants to be used for events and projects in Sunnyvale between July 2019 and June 2020, city officials said.

Applications are due at 5 p.m., April 19, for community event and neighborhood grants. Guidelines and applications can be found on the city's website.

Recipients of neighborhood grants are eligible for up to $1,000 and recipients of community event grants can receive reimbursement of up to 40 percent of their expenses. All grant applications will be considered on a competitive basis and the City Council will determine recipients in June. Applicants must either be nonprofits planning to have a community event in Sunnyvale for 500 people or more, or a neighborhood group providing activities to add to the quality of their neighborhood or increase community engagement.
