Bicyclist Hit by Car on Shoreline Blvd Monday Morning

A Mountain View man crossing the pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of Dana Street was taken to hospital, but suffered no major injuries.

A 24-year-old male bicyclist was struck by a vehicle as he crossed a major thoroughfare in Mountain View Monday morning, police confirm.

The incident occured at 7:33 a.m. when a southbound driver in the lane closest to the median of Shoreline Boulevard failed to stop at the pedestrian crosswalk as the bicyclist crossed eastbound, according to Mountain View Police spokesman Sgt. Dan Vicencio. The drivers in the other two lanes came to a complete stop, Vicencio added.

The Mountain View bicyclist didn't suffer major injuries, but was still transported to a local hospital complaining of pain.
