Celebrities Ada Wong and Angelo Sosa Hit the Festival Stage

The two personalities gave some hands-on demonstrations during the festival's first day.

With two more days of action to go, the Gilroy Garlic Festival has already brought plenty of star power to the stage.

, an audience favorite during season ten of NBC’s The Biggest Loser, and Top Chef contestant and restaurateur Angelo Sosa joined well-known festival personalities on the Cook-Off Stage Friday.

Sosa joined Pyro Chef Jon Vickroy to learn the method to the “flame up,” helping to create two huge batches of garlic scampi and sending fire shooting high into the air.

“Do you have any hair under there?” Sosa asked Vickroy, who lifted his hat to prove he still had hair after years of perilous flame shooting towards his face.

Wong took to the stage with the “Sakabozzo twins,” Gene Sakahara and Sam Bozzo, sharing recipe tips and her experience losing 99 pounds on the NBC reality show.

“I knew I wouldn’t fail if America was watching me,” Wong, who was the second runner-up on the show that season but maintains a healthy lifestyle, said.

More star power will hit the festival on Saturday and Sunday as celebrity chefs compete for glory and demonstrate their skills.
