County Recognizes Mountain View Teachers of the Year

Two of Mountain View's very own will be among 31 teachers recognized by the Santa Clara County Office of Education at its 43rd annual Teacher Recognition Celebration.

Christa Wemmer, a teacher at , and Cyndee Nguyen, a first-grade teacher at will be honored on Sept. 27.

Each school districts selected its honoree based on each teacher’s dedication to students, classroom skill and commitment to life-long learning, according to the district.

About Wemmer, the stated she "spent [hours] working with students, developing curriculum, and meeting with families outside of school led to great gains in the students’ achievement."

"As a result, her program won a county award for excellence and she is this year’s MVLA Teacher of the Year"

Nguyen, who was recognized publicly at the Mountain View Whisman Teacher Recognition reception recently, not only engages with her classroom but also actively seeks develoment and training opportunities.
