
On Saturday, October 29, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., the Fire Department is offering residents the opportunity to dispose of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. The drop-off location is at the Police/Fire Administration Building located at 1000 Villa Street. This one-day service is a collaborative nationwide effort, in cooperation with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, and is free and anonymous.
Both solid and liquid medications will be accepted; however, liquid medications should remain tightly sealed in their original container. Please consolidate pills into one container or zip-loc bag and leave ointments and liquids in their original container. Vitamins may be placed in the garbage. Intravenous solutions, injectibles, and syringes will not be accepted. Please contact the Fire Department at (650) 903-6224 for additional information or questions.
