Animation festival Epic ACG Fest 2025 concludes after a successful weekend of screenings

This year’s roster featured experimental films that utilized new mediums to their full effect. ‘August 32nd' uses AI to convey a powerful story about memory, while the Brazilian-made ‘Kabuki’ used mixed-media in its tale of the importance of art in developing identity.

EACG welcomed a variety of creative professionals to its panel on technology in the entertainment industry. Panelists, including playwright Elizabeth Orr and founder or the AI/VR Motion Picture Guild Esha Bargate discussed how technologies like AI affect their industries and how creatives should interact with them.

Attendees celebrated Halloween early at the always fabulous Red Carpet and Award Ceremony. ‘Khentopia’, a sci-fi epic written and produced solely by Job Michiel Van Zuijlen, received the award for Best Animated Feature, while French historical drama ‘Vercors’ won Best Animated Short.
