Feds Indict High Tech Worker Visa Fraud Suspect On 20 Counts

A federal grand jury charged the Sunnyvale man on 10 counts each of visa and mail fraud by using a pool of foreign workers.

SUNNYVALE, CA -- Kishore Kumar Kuvuru, 46, of Sunnyvale was indicted on federal charges relating to visa and mail fraud that schemed workers through false applications intended to grant them permission to work in the States, the U.S. Attorney Alex G. Tse announced Friday. Tse's office worked in conjunction with Inspector General Special Agent In Charge Abel Salinas.

Kavuru allegedly filed the fraudulent applications under the guise of managing four consulting companies to gain a competitive advantage. Names of the companies he purported to run since 2007 include: Scopus Consulting Group, ITECH Analyst Corp, Infinity Methods Corp and Orian Engineers Incorporated.

The H-1B program allows an employer to hire a foreign worker for a specialty occupation in the United States on a temporary basis.
