Man Taken to Hospital After Assault on Castro
Incident is one of 48 that police department responded to on Friday and Saturday.

After a night of partying, it wasn't the alcohol that caused this guy's pain.
According to the , on Feb. 5 a Mountain View man arrested for an alleged assault with a deadly weapon upon a Palo Alto man ended up at with shoulder pains.
At some point on Saturday, the 22-year-old suspect got into an argument with the 23-year-old victim inside the Montecarlo nightclub on Castro Street, said Liz Wylie, the police department's public information officer. After the victim left, the suspect approached him in the parking lot behind the businesses. The suspect threw an irrigation lid from a city lot at the victim's head, which caused a laceration. Wylie said witness statements confirmed the incident. Police responded to the call at 2:04 a.m.

However, the victim wasn't the only person injured.
After the police department arrested the suspect, "he complained of pain to his shoulder," and officers took him to the hospital, Wylie said. With the long wait, the officer released the suspect but "requested an warrant for his arrest, instead."

In addition to this charge, officers arrested six people for driving under the influence.
