Mountain View Library to Offer Free Tax Preparation Help
The one day free tax assistance event takes place from 2 pm to 7 pm Thursday, Feb. 16.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- The Mountain View Public Library, in partnership with the Computer and Communication Industry Association (CCIA) and Intuit Freedom Foundation will host a free one day tax preparation assistance event from 2 pm to 7 pm Thursday, Feb. 16.
You qualify to file your federal and state income tax returns for free if you made $33,000 or less during tax year 2016, or you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
Those having their taxes done must also bring the following documents:- Copy of your 2015 tax return, or IRS transcript, or your TurboTax 2015 login and email information;
- At least one form of government identification, such as a picture ID;
- A social security card or Individual Taxpayer’s Identification Number (ITIN Card or Letter) for each family member;
- Proof of income, including W2s and 1099 forms;
- Documentation of deductible expenses;
- Health insurance coverage information for each family member;
- Account and routing numbers of checking or savings accounts for direct deposit and a faster refund.
