Multiple Alarm Fire Burns Computer Business In Sunnyvale

One lane is still closed on the major thoroughfare in the area from Bernardo to Crestview as a result of a fire, Sunnyvale police reported.

SUNNYVALE, CA — A computer business was destroyed in a multiple alarm fire early Monday morning in Sunnyvale.

Central Computers experienced a "total loss" from the large fire that was called in at 3:20 a.m. and extinguished about an hour and a half later, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety reported. It's believed the blaze that broke out at 1255 West El Camino Real started in the rear of the building and is under investigation.

No one was hurt.

Consequently, westbound El Camino Real from Bernardo Avenue to Crestview Drive was closed but has since reopened with the exception of one lane following the early-morning blaze.

Adding to Sunnyvale traffic woes, a crash on westbound State Route 237 east of the Lawrence Expressway exit blocked the second lane. It has since cleared.
