MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Mountain View police are investigating the theft of an ATM machine, after officers found it burned and discarded near Google's Mountain View campus early Tuesday morning. Officers were alerted around 4:30 a.m. to an ATM that was found in the 1900 block of Charleston Road. It appeared that the ATM had been set on fire, police said.
Investigators initially were unsure where the ATM came from, however, police then received a call from an employee at Michael's at Shoreline restaurant at 2960 N. Shoreline Blvd. saying that the property had
been burglarized. Additionally, the machine located in the restaurant's front lobby was missing, police said.
When police arrived at the restaurant, they found that the wood and glass in the front doors had sustained major damage.
