• Mountain View Whisman releases school budget cut proposals (mv-voice.com) — Mountain View Whisman School District is weighing up to $11.5 million in cuts that could affect preschool, after-school programs, PE or STEAM instruction, technology for younger grades, and dozens of staff positions. Trustees will discuss the proposals Jan. 15 and are expected to vote Jan. 29. Families could see reduced custodial services, fewer support staff, and major changes to free programs serving vulnerable students.
   

• Getting Fair Share of 2026 Games Benefits: South Bay Mayors Roundtable (svvoice.com) — South Bay leaders, including Mountain View’s mayor, are strategizing how local cities can capture more economic benefits from the 2026 Super Bowl and World Cup at Levi’s Stadium. • Dead & Company Oteil Burbridge pays tribute to Bob Weir (98online.com) — Fans in Mountain View will recognize Shoreline Amphitheatre in a photo of Dead & Company performing there, used as bassist Oteil Burbridge honors the late Bob Weir. Burbridge’s tribute reflects on Weir’s relentless drive to play live, his generosity toward younger musicians, and the full, adventurous life he led up to age 78.
