Police Blotter: Check Forgery and Vienna Sausage Theft

Burglary

According to the Mountain View Police Department a suspect attempted to cash a forged check at the Bank of America on April 19 at around 3:57 p.m., but fled before the police arrived. The case remains under investigation.

Petty Theft

Brigitte Barron, a Palo Alto woman age 52, has been arrested for petty theft with a prior at Kohl’s on April 19 around 8:18 p.m. According to the MVPD, loss prevention security at the store saw her select numerous athletic and female clothing items, and place them in a shopping cart. Then she went to the fitting room, put the items in her purse and went to the register and paid for a reusable bag. When she walked outside she was stopped and the clothing items were in her purse. According to police, she had $294 worth of items.

Possession of Stolen Property

A man was arrested outside of the 7-Eleven on Whisman Road for possession of stolen property. Sunnyvale resident Jermaine Register, 33, was recognized by a police officer as a man on probation. He was stopped for a probation search. Upon the probation search, the officer found a can of Libby's Vienna Sausage in the pocket of Register and when the officer asked the clerk if the suspect had paid for the can, the clerk said, "No." Register was put under citizen's arrest. Register was previously arrested in that neighborhood for indecent exposure.

Battery

Two female roommates got into an argument over something burning on the stove, according to the MVPD. When the police officer arrived, he couldn't tell who was telling the truth. However, one of the roommates was arrested for an unrelated warrant.
