Burglary

The Mountain View Police Department responded to a call of a burglary on Apr. 4 that occurred sometime between noon on Apr. 2 and 10 a.m. on Apr. 3 at 2044 Montecito Ave. According to the police report, the apartment manager noticed that the victim's storage facility was wide open and it appeared that items had been removed. When the 30-something-year-old victims returned they found that many of their outdoor equipment used for hiking, camping and skiing were missing. Somehow the padlock had been removed and not left behind at the scene. There appears to be no video, suspects or witnesses, the MVPD said.

A fight at Monte Carlo early Sunday morning resulted in a man with a laceration about two inches big on his chin, a Mountain View Police report states. The incident occurred at 1:50 a.m. on Apr. 14 at the nightclub located at 228 Castro St. One of the parties involved, a 21-year-old man from Watsonville who the report stated was intoxicated, claimed that the doorman from Monte Carlo, age 29, punched him unprovoked. However, the doorman said he saw the 21-year-old causing a disturbance and when security approached him, the 21-year-old challenged the doorman to a fight and then punched him. The doorman told the MVPD that in the scuffle he fell and landed on the 21-year-old. According to the report, the younger man had a two inch red mark on his chin from where doorman allegedly "punched" him. No one wanted prosecution.
