Police Blotter: Thefts and Burglary at Kohl's
The Mountain View Police Department responds to various crime reports between April 6 and April 7. Here's a sampling.

Petty Theft
A woman allegedly stole $40 worth of earrings from Kohl’s on April 5. According to the Mountain View Police Department, loss prevention staff observed her take two pairs of earrings, go into the bathroom and come out without the earrings. They contacted her outside. She had the earrings on her. They called MVPD at 5:12 p.m. The 28-year-old Palo Alto woman was arrested and cited for petty theft.

On April 6, loss prevention staff at Kohl’s observed a woman through the surveillance cameras allegedly steal two silver watches worth $24.99 each. The woman then walked toward the men’s department and covered the watches with a wallet. She then concealed them with her sweater. The woman walked out of the store and was stopped outside by security. They brought her to the office and retrieved the merchandise. The 53-year-old Palo Alto resident was arrested by MVPD around 7:49 p.m. and cited for petty theft
Burglary

A man has been arrested for allegedly stealing several items from Kohl's on April 7 around 2:38 p.m., according to MVPD. The 30-year-old Mountain View man apparently came into the store with what appeared to be a large empty backpack. He selected some items and went into the men’s fitting room, the MVPD stated. He allegedly took the security tags off the clothing items, put the items in the backpack and wore the shoes out. He left store and fled, according to MVPD, who caught him during a perimeter search. Loss prevention identified him. They located wire cutters, a razor blade, a watch, sunglasses, blue shirt and the shoes. No value was listed for the items in report.
Petty Theft
On April 7, loss prevention staff at Kohl’s allegedly observed via surveillance cameras a woman take two iPhone cases worth $30 and conceal them in a Verizon bag that she carried. She was detained outside and brought back to the office where they found the merchandise. MVPD was called at 7:03 p.m. and arrested the 18-year-old from Palo Alto. She was cited and released.
