SANTA CLARA VALLEY, CA — UPDATE 12:50 p.m. Pacific Time: Authorities at San Jose International Airport reopened Terminal B at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday following an investigation into a possibly suspicious package near a security checkpoint. The terminal, which primarily serves passengers of Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines, was closed for about two hours Tuesday. Affected passengers were re-routed to Terminal A as the item was investigated, resulting in delays for some travelers.
Airport spokeswoman Vicki Day said someone reported a suspicious bag; after nothing dangerous was found in the bag, the airport was deemed safe.
Although the closure was lifted and passengers were being permitted to re-enter the terminal, some airport operations remained impacted, officials said in a Twitter post at 12:01 p.m. Passengers were advised to check with their airline for flight updates.
