SHARE: Where Were You for Matt Cain's Perfect Game?
Wednesday night was all about Matt Cain and the Giants — and of course Mountain View!

I didn't know a historical moment was in the making at AT&T Park until the last out of the ninth inning of Wednesday's perfect game.
I was at working on my Patch stories and eavesdropping on a couple who was on their first date. A little before the coffeeshop closed at 10 p.m., I picked up my belongings and went over to catch the tail-end of trivia night at .
Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Dinner" played on the speakers as part of round three. As I approached the bar, instead of the television showing the customary trivia images, the San Francisco Giants were on.

I'm a baseball fan. I grew up with the New York Mets and watched when Pitcher Johan Santana threw a no-hitter on June 1, 2012. I cheered and cried.
So when I walked in and saw the scoreboard, my first thought was "wow, another no-hitter!" A guy standing to my left corrected me. "No, it's even better than that."

I understood.
And while Matt Cain pitched a phenomenal game, 14 strikeouts, "27-up, 27-down,"—that's three batters for nine innings for those who don't follow baseball—it's a team effort.
Giants Manager Bruce Bochy put in in late innings and now he's part of the win too!
