Sunnyvale Motorcyclist With Warrants Arrested After Chase, Is Found With Firearm: Police

A Sunnyvale man was arrested in Morgan Hill after he was stopped on a motorcycle with no plates and was found with a firearm, police said.

SOUTH BAY, CA -- A Sunnyvale man was recently arrested in Morgan Hill after he was stopped on his motorcycle and found with a firearm, police said Wednesday.

According to the Morgan Hill Police Department, an officer stopped a motorcycle that did not have license plates in the area of Monterey and Cochrane roads on April 19.

The motorcyclist tried to avoid the officer, but the officer managed to conduct a high-risk felony vehicle stop, police said.

The biker, identified as 27-year-old Timothy Barnes of Sunnyvale, had a loaded revolver in his waistband. He also had a few warrants for his arrest, police said.

Barnes was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
