Traffic Alert: El Camino Real Gas Leak Closes Lane
BREAKING: Westbound El Camino Real was down to one lane Wednesday afternoon in Sunnyvale, public safety officials said.

SANTA CLARA VALLEY, CA — A gas line ruptured Wednesday afternoon on El Camino Real, leaving only one lane open of westbound El Camino Real east of South Bernardo Avenue, according to the city's Department of Public Safety. PG&E responded to the scene and residents were advised to avoid the area, public safety officials said.
Capt. Shawn Ahearn said respondents reported a strong gas odor.
Investigators do not yet know how the leak started.

Public safety officials issued a traffic advisory at 1:14 p.m. and there was no estimated time for when the rupture would be repaired.
