UPDATE: Hurled Bicycle Chain Caused Father's Day Blackout
Less people affected than originally calculated PG&E says.

A bicycle chain thrown at Pacific Gas & Electric equipment caused a Father's Day power outage to 1,516 customers, according to a company spokeswoman.
That's half the number of customers originally reported to Patch on Sunday, a few hours after the outage, confirmed Monica Tell.

"The outage had been noted twice in the system," she said.
The outage began at 4:20 p.m. and lasted 41 minutes until 4:58 p.m. when power was restored.

The location of the incident was Old Middlefield Road and Highway 101.
This is the third power outage in two months in Mountain View, the last one .
