Venus Transit Viewing at NASA Ames
Everyone had a chance to view this once-in-a-lifetime event at this institution next to Mountain View.

Venus won't transit across the sun again for 105 years and nearly 500 people visited today in order not to miss it.
Members of the San Jose Astronomical Association came prepared with high powered telescopes, cameras and gadgets to help make sure everyone could experience this phenomenon.
Here's a projection by one of those amateur astronomers that allowed anyone without a telescope or safety glasses to view the transit.
